Steel Core Engineering

Company

As engineers we help our clients’ to make a step from virtual reality to real-life. Our clients know that they want. We know how to do it.

Geographic area of practice:
Services could be provided primarily in the New York Metropolitan Area and Long Island, New Jersey, Michigan and Kentucky.

Comprehensive engineering services:
Building design and engineering services for all types of low-rise structures, building additions, renovations and modifications of existing structures.
Consulting service for repairs and reinforcements of steel, masonry, concrete and wood structures.
Curtain walls designed with extruded aluminum members such us horizontal and vertical mullions, anchoring, and typically infilled with glass and other common infills, including: stone veneer, metal panels, louvers, and operable windows or vents.

Material experience:
  • Structural steel:
Structural steel enhances construction productivity because of its shop fabrication while maintaining tight construction tolerances. Rapid erection in all seasons with close tolerances being maintained for integration with other building systems and minimal construction site waste is achievable only with structural steel. From the simplest, functional structure to the complex, signature design structural steel can be readily used to accomplish the design intent of the architect and structural engineer. No other framing material comes close to structural steel in the ability to encourage freedom of expression and design creativity.
  • Cold-formed steel:
A broad classification of the cold-formed shapes used in the construction industry can be made as individual structural framing members or panels and decks. Some of the popular applications and the preferred sections are:
    - Lightness in weight
    - High strength and stiffness
    - Ease of prefabrication and mass production
    - Fast and easy erection and installation
    - Non shrinking and non creeping at ambient temperatures
    - Termite-proof and rot proof
    - Uniform quality
    - Economy in transportation and handling
    - Non combustibility
    - Recyclable material
    - Panels and decks can provide enclosed cells fro conduits
  • Reinforced concrete:
Reinforced concrete is one of the most widely used modern building materials. Fresh concrete can be molded into almost any shape, which is an inherent advantage over other materials. The wide use of reinforced concrete construction stems from the wide availability of reinforcing steel as well as the concrete ingredients. Unlike steel, concrete production does not require expensive manufacturing mills. Concrete construction, does, however, require a certain level of technology, expertise, and workmanship, particularly in the field during construction
  • Composite steel / concrete:
In structural engineering, composite construction exists when two different materials are bound together so strongly that they act together as a single unit from a structural point of view. When this occurs, it is called composite action. One common example involves steel beams supporting concrete floor slabs. If the beam is not connected firmly to the slab, then the slab transfers all of its weight to the beam and the slab contributes nothing to the load carrying capability of the beam. However, if the slab is connected positively to the beam with studs, then a portion of the slab can be assumed to act compositely with the beam. In effect, this composite creates a larger and stronger beam than would be provided by the steel beam alone. The structural engineer may calculate a transformed section as one step in analyzing the load carry capability of the composite beam
  • Masonry:
Masonry is commonly used for the walls of buildings, retaining walls. Brick and concrete block are the most common types of masonry may be either load-bearing or a veneer. Concrete blocks, especially those with hollow cores, offer various possibilities in masonry construction. They generally provide great compressive strength, and are best suited to structures with light transverse loading when the cores remain unfilled. Filling some or all of the cores with concrete or concrete with steel reinforcement (typically rebar) offers much greater tensile and lateral strength to structures
